PRODUCT PARAMETERS

Overview

Hiperco 50 is high saturation magnetic induction intensity, in the production of the same power of the motor, can greatly reduce the volume, in the electromagnet, in the same cross-sectional area can produce a large suction force. Because of the high Curie point, the alloy can work at higher temperatures where other soft magnetic materials have been completely demagnetized, and maintain good magnetic stability. Because of its large magnetostrictive coefficient, it is very suitable for magnetostrictive transducer with high output energy and high working efficiency. The alloy has a low resistivity (0.27μΩ·m) and is not suitable for use at high frequencies. The price is expensive, easy oxidation, poor processing performance, adding appropriate amount of nickel or other elements, can improve its processing.Hiperco 50 is used in motors and generators for achieving maximum torque density and minimum losses. It helps improve motor power density and efficiency, and can reduce the size of the motor. This alloy also offers the highest forces for actuators in consumer electronic applications, such as speaker, haptic, and sensor devices.

Heat treatment

When selecting a heat treating temperature for the application, two factors should be considered:

For best maanetic soft characteristics, select the highest suagested temperature.

lf the application requires specific mechanical properties higher than that produced when employing the highest temperature.select the temperature that will provide desired mechanical properties.

As temperature decreases, maanetic properties become less magnetic soft.Heat treating temperature for best sofi magnetic properties should be 16259F +/-259F (885℃ +/-15%C).Do not exceed 1652 F(900℃)The heat treating atmosphere used must be nonoxiding and noncarburizinq.

Atmospheres such as dry hydrogen or high vacuum are suggested. Time at temperature should be two to four hours. Cool at a rate of nominally 180 to 360F (100 to 200℃) per hour to a temperature of least 700 F(370C), then cool naturally to room temperature.
